Lettuce

Lettuce comes from the wild lettuce (Lactuca serriola), a steppe plant found in large parts of southern Europe and the Near East.
In antiquity it was already found in ancient Egypt and Greece, and later also in the Romans. In Central Europe he found himself under Charlemagne from the 8th century.
