Hot chili and pepperoni

Chili and hot peppers are popular vegetables with a hot, spicy taste. Pepperoni are usually mildly hot and a subspecies of the usually much hotter chilies. They differ clearly in shape and taste. They are closely related to sweet peppers and, like tomatoes, eggplants and potatoes, belong to the nightshade family [Solanaceae]. The species are very productive and usually have only a small height and can therefore be easily cultivated in pots. In the kitchen they are usually consumed cooked or a spice powder is made from them.
Because of their long growing season, chili and pepperoni are pre-cultivated in winter and then planted out individually. Sowing times are similar in temperate and subtropical climates and occur from January to March. Even in temperate climates, good results can be achieved in outdoor cultivation in mild locations; in cooler areas, greenhouse cultivation is recommended. Details in the descriptions.
The varieties we have selected here have clearly different uses and growth characteristics and are also unique in appearance and taste.
