Pumpkins are one of the oldest cultivated plants in the world and belong to the Cucurbitaceae family. With a wide range of over 850 varieties, pumpkins come in many different colors, shapes and flavors.
In the kitchen they are versatile and very popular thanks to their good storage properties.
Pumpkin seeds are usually sown in warm pre-cultivation or at suitable temperatures in direct sowing. The heat-loving plants can be pre-cultivated from April in temperate climate zones. In subtropical climates, direct sowing can be carried out from March. Details in the descriptions.
