The leek 'fantic' is a biennial onion and medicinal plant. It comes from the garlic [Allium ampeloprasum], which is native to the Mediterranean and was known and used there more than 2000 years before our era. This variety grows evenly, is hardy and healthy, with dark green foliage and good peelability. The taste is full-bodied and strong.

Subtropic climate (Mediterranean) (e. g. B. Portugal, Spain, Italy)
Sow or pre-cultivate directly outdoors from September to November when temperatures start to drop.

Moderate climate (e. g. B. Germany, Switzerland, Poland)
From mid-May to July, sow directly after the ice saints in the frost-free open air. We recommend pre-cultivation in small bowls from April to May. The plants are separated into the bed from a height of 15cm.

General
Sow or plant leeching seedlings like radishes in rows. We always recommend pre-culture, for this purpose let the seedlings grow in a small bowl up to a height of 20 cm. To stimulate growth, then lay the plants at the same height with the bulb and shorten them by 1/3 at the roots and leaf tips just before planting out.
Leek prefers a fully sunny location with sufficient water and nutrient-rich, humus soil. Prepare the soil for leeks with deposited animal manure. Avoid waterlogging.

Additional tips
For a longer harvest period, care should be taken not to hurt the heart when harvesting. Leek generally prefers cooler, humid climates. In order for it to get longer, thicker white shafts, it is necessary to pile up regularly. In order to quickly obtain a fine, crumbly and well-drained soil, an additional incorporation of biochar and primeval rock flour is recommended.

Type of propagation
Spread occurs via seeds.

Care Plants
The bed in which the leek grows should never dry out completely, regular watering is necessary to keep the growth of the plants stable. Due to the initially slow growth of the plants, we recommend weeding the surrounding herbs regularly. M It animal manure prepared beds and planting in mixed culture, replaces additional fertilization.

Germination ability of seeds: 3-4 years
