Tips to reduce water requirements

We recommend mulching the beds
Experience has shown that by covering the floor with hay or straw, evaporation can be reduced by 80%. If you keep the beds evenly moist, an optimal humid microclimate will be created under the mulch. This not only promotes the growth of plants, but also enormously reduces water consumption. On our farm we only water every 2-3 days and irrigate a 200 m2 cultivation area in the Algarve in Portugal with 500l of water. Our beds are always moist, which promotes plant growth and harvest quality.

It is also advisable to keep the beds moist at all times, even if the bed is not used for a certain period of time
The desiccation of the soil leads to a huge decline in micro-and macro-organisms in the soil, resulting in a barren soil over time. Tests have shown that the water content in the entire bed with full-scale irrigation remains longer than if watering is only carried out selectively. Due to the small volume of the poured surfaces, in contrast to the large dry volume, they dry out faster than if the entire volume of the bed is filled with moisture. Similar to heating in an apartment.

Maintaining an energy level always requires less energy than having to achieve it again and again.

The beetroot 'Egyptian Plattrunde' is an old two-year-old and the most original red variety that has been native to the Mediterranean since 1868, in Lombardy-a rural area in France. This robust and fast-growing variety evolved from the whitebed. The beetroot forms short leaves with flat-rounded root tubers and a dark red flesh. The excellent taste of the tubers is mild and sweet and is excellent as a raw food. For year-round cultivation.

Subtropic climate (Mediterranean) (e. g. B. Portugal, Spain, Italy)
From February after the last frosts, sow directly into the open air. We recommend pre-cultivation in small bowls from January to December.

Moderate climate (e. g. B. Germany, Switzerland, Poland)
Sow directly into the frost-free open air from April to July. We recommend pre-cultivation in small bowls from March to August.

We recommend the pre-culture for prayers, for this purpose let the seedlings grow in a small bowl up to the first visible bed leaves, then peck them into the desired container. After peckering, let the seedlings grow at moderate temperatures until they are planted out as seedlings. The planting of the seedlings in the bed is carried out from the 2nd Pair of leaves after the cotyledders.
Prote prefers a sunny location with a nutrient-rich, humus-rich loam soil. Prepare the soil for prayers with deposited animal manure. Avoid waterlogging.

Additional tips
In order to quickly obtain a fine, crumbly and well-drained soil, an additional incorporation of biochar and primeval rock flour is recommended.

Type of propagation
Spread occurs via seeds.

Plant care
The bed in which bed plants grow can occasionally be a little drier, but the soil should never dry out completely. Regular water giving causes faster growth. M It animal manure prepared beds and planting in mixed culture, replaces additional fertilization.
