Are seeds 100% germinable?
The seeds produced by a plant are generally not all viable. Naturally, there are species where we can be happy with a germination rate of 60%. Only a few species achieve a rate above 90%; some even germinate better after storage. Generally speaking, if the seeds have too high a metabolic activity during storage, their germination capacity decreases. For this reason, optimal storage conditions must always be maintained to ensure the best possible germination rate.

To maintain high germination capacity, we and cooperating seed breeders therefore pay particular attention to harvesting only the seeds from plants that have grown especially healthy, vigorous and with their own specific characteristics.
