Rosemary [Rosmarinus officinalis]

Rosemary is an old perennial spice and medicinal plant that comes from the Mediterranean and has been around since the 14th century. Century was used as a medicinal plant. Due to its aromatic and resinous scent, it is often used as a fragrance plant. The sun-loving, hardy and evergreen shrub with narrow leaves and blue flowers prefers relatively dry soils and full sun. The herb is an important ingredient, especially in Mediterranean cuisine and in spice mixtures such as “Herbs of Provence”. The essential oil obtained from the leaves has a blood circulation-promoting and antifungal effect on a wide variety of mushrooms. Aids from the plant extracts are well suited as pesticides and tonics. Rosemary bushes can live for decades. An important source of food for insects.

General
In the pre-culture, sow the seeds in small pots and let the seedlings grow to the first visible rosemary leaves. Then plant the pre-grown plants from the pots directly into the open ground. The planting of the seedlings in the bed is carried out from the 2nd Pair of leaves after the cotyledders.
Rosemary prefers a warm, fully sunny location with permeable, loamy, humus-rich, slightly dry and sandy soil.

Additional tips
Keeping the plant in pots is also possible. In order to quickly obtain a fine, crumbly and well-drained soil, an additional incorporation of biochar and primeval rock flour is recommended.
