Description
The 'Konrad' Coriander is a annual specially bred for leaf cultivation, open-pollinated variety with strong growth and particularly aromatic leaves. Coriander originally comes from the eastern Mediterranean area and has been used as a spice and medicinal plant for thousands of years. In order to expand the variety of varieties, the 'Konrad' variety was selected in 2004 as part of ecological breeding projects and has since been an integral part of the biodiversity. Unlike the 'Coriandrum Sativum', this robust variety is shot -proof and only forms flowers late.
The plants grow compactly and bushy, with strong, deep green leaves that are ideal for fresh use. The variety also thrives reliably in the pot or balcony box and delivers aromatic green for weeks.
The taste is intense, fresh and typically like coriander, with a fine lemon note and less so -grade aroma than many other varieties. This makes it particularly popular in the kitchen, the leaves are ideal for Asian and oriental dishes, for dips, chutneys, curries or as fresh topping.

Sowing by climate zone
Subtropic climate (Mediterranean) (e. g. B. Portugal, Spain, Italy)
Direct sowing from February to November is recommended. The location of the plants is ideally sunny to partially shaded.
Moderate climate (e. g. B. Germany, Switzerland, Poland)
Direct sowing is recommended from March to August. The location of the plants is ideally sunny to partially shaded.
General recommendations
Direct sowing is recommended. After germination, thin out the plants to the specified plant spacing. Pre-cultivation in pots is also advisable.
Leafy Coriander 'Konrad' prefers a permeable, moderately nutrient-rich, moist and humus-rich loamy soil. Doesn't tolerate waterlogging.
Additional tips
Dry soil promotes flower formation. Coriander keeps aphids and the cabbage white butterfly away and at the same time attracts pollinating insects such as hoverflies. In order to quickly obtain a fine, crumbly and permeable soil with good nutrient and water storage capacity, it is recommended to also incorporate biochar and primary rock flour.
Type of propagation
Propagation occurs via seeds.
Plant care
Regular watering results in faster growth. No care or fertilization necessary.
