Kohlrabi
Kohlrabi originates from the temperate regions of Europe, where early forms emerged from wild brassicas and were already cultivated in medieval gardens. Over the centuries, different regional types developed, each varying in shape, colour and growth characteristics. Their diversity ranges from light‑green and white to violet bulbs, which may be round, slightly flattened or strongly pronounced.
In subtropical climates, kohlrabi thrives almost year‑round and tolerates light frosts, making it a particularly stable crop there. In temperate regions, all of our traditional and historically preserved open‑pollinated varieties perform reliably, forming more uniform bulbs even at cooler temperatures. Kohlrabi shows broad ecological adaptability and fits well into many different climate zones.
