Red Beet
Red Beet originates from the temperate coastal regions of Europe and West Asia, where early forms emerged from wild goosefoot species and were already used in ancient cultures. Over long periods, distinct regional types developed, differing clearly in flavour, colour, shape and internal structure. Their diversity ranges from classic red, ring‑patterned, yellow, white or deep‑purple roots to elongated, round or flattened forms.
In subtropical climates, beetroot grows almost year‑round and tolerates light frosts, making it particularly stable in cultivation. In temperate regions, all of our traditional and historically preserved open‑pollinated varieties perform reliably, forming uniform roots even at cooler temperatures. Beetroot shows broad ecological versatility and remarkable robustness across many different climate zones.
