About Benjis seeds

In view of the global development in terms of seeds, food diversity and sustainability, we have been running Benjis seeds in Portugal since 2020, a self-sufficient and nature-oriented nursery. In order to be able to preserve the variety of varieties and wild plants bred by our ancestors under natural conditions, we work together with other people and networks to jointly preserve and pass on the global supply of seed-stable and reproducible, old and rare varieties. We live for this and help gardeners, families, children, animals and nature to develop holistically.

In addition to organizing, creating further networks and preserving the diversity of our wild, fruit, vegetable and medicinal plants, we also provide seedlings, vegetables and lots of information and opportunities to get to know the many different plant species and to be able to grow them easily.

In the spirit of the universe

By providing and selling seeds, we also support many small private seed farmers and nature conservation networks worldwide and are networked with many partners at home and abroad. The future goal is to build and link up further networks in order to be able to preserve and offer the entire variety of varieties independently in many countries.

Free markets are meeting places for exchange, social contact, recreation, activities and for everyday and special needs. Markets are central physical connection points that must be preserved. We therefore regularly visit many regional markets and help to support them with our work.

The founder

My name is Benji and I live self-sufficiently with a small group of like-minded people close to nature in southern Portugal.

I was born in East Germany in 1989 under the sign of Gemini and from a very early age I became interested in nature and began to grow my own vegetables. It wasn't difficult to see what my purpose in life was by observing the outside world. I gained my experiences in a goal-oriented way and tried out everything I needed in life in order to use the experiences to create and support something sustainable for the general public.

Over the course of my life I have explored the world of plants and learned how to efficiently manage my own self-sufficiency, knowledge that I pass on today.

Due to the great interest of other people in the findings of my observations and research, I founded 'Benjis seeds' to create a basis that would enable other people to learn about plant diversity independently of states and industries and learn how to preserve it. Also to exchange seeds and provide detailed information, background knowledge and tips.
