Planting information
Beans are sown in spring outdoors at soil temperatures of around 10 °C from March to May and for autumn sowing from September to October in a mild climate.
Direct sowing in rows or in clumps with 5-6 seeds per planting hole is recommended. The pre-swelling of the seed is possible and shortens the germination time. Runner beans are climbing plants and need climbing aids.
Bean plants feel most comfortable at temperatures between 18 and 25°C. They prefer a sunny and sheltered location.
Cultivation is worthwhile, easy and undemanding.
